Documentary: Na Sam

A day in the Chaco of Salta. On the northern border of Argentina, the Pilcomayo River meanders through the vast mountain that unites what is now part of Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina. The Wikina Wos, (people of the north wind), ethnicity of the people we know as Chorote, relive their history full of absences, silences and shortcomings.

After the colonization of the lands of the Chaco by the national states, all its natural and spiritual universe collapsed under the pressure of acculturation, wars for ancestral territory, processes of sedentarization and evangelization by those churches that sought to “destroy the Devil who had shaped these savage cultures”.
